Soham Dave At Lakme Fashion Week S|R 2017
Designer Soham Dave a versatile designer from Ahmadabad will be presenting his magnificent collection on the Indian Textile Day at Lakme Fashion Week on 2nd February 2017 at 5:30 pm in Mumbai. The theme for the collection is ‘Line/Line’ - spacing next to each other, the gaps and slippages left on the handmade textiles draws to inherent natural beauty in its imperfection. We find comfort in our inner beings following the paths laid out for us. The fleeting paint like patterns in the collection will draw you back to our natural, most organic state of being, closer to the lost blank slate, the tabula rasa. From processing to finishing; naturally available techniques has been used. The Designer has worked with silk, cotton and cotton-silk fabrics woven on hand looms using eternal human energy and passion. The fabric is desized using ‘Harda’, washed at open pools, dried at the sunlit fields and is manually printed by artisans, using hand carved wooden blocks. The entire process, thus, eliminates electricity on which man has become overly dependent upon. The label 'Soham Dave' founded in 2011, started with a passion of all thing handmade. The name “soham” is a combination of complete consciousness and creative energy translated in a sustainable lifestyle brand. The brand offers a contemporary range of lifestyle products for the conscious urban consumer with emphasis on biodegradable fabrics, and hand- crafted items.
