Personal Consultations with Designer from 11 am-7 pm
Jhelum, the unique store-in-store concept fashion destination by mother daughter duo Aarti Rele and Jhelum Gopal Dalvi at Santacruz, is one of Mumbai's most exclusive destinations that houses creations of India's leading design names.
This festive season, Jhelum presents none other than the much sought after designer Suneet Varma with his collection, ‘Divine Couture’ at Jhelum on 2nd December 2016. Suneet Varma’s couture collection takes inspiration from the joyful and jubilant music of the 70's. The designer will be personally present on 2nd for bridal appointments and consultation for an entire day at Jhelum.
This collection has been an interesting departure for Suneet as he has worked with a new colour palette and fabrics. Deep maroons and purples in two toned silks, ombre dyed organza in shades of yellow, gold and copper diaphanous lace is lined with a vibrant orange and fuchsia pink reminiscent of the times. The white on white dori and aari embroidered collection is layered with long tunics with asymmetrical hemlines and worn with draped dhoti trousers and flared sharara pants, the sheer sarees are worn over printed and embroidered petticoats and the short capes with narrow pencil pants make the collection trendy and youthful.
Floral abstract artworks are on gathered skirts with off shoulder blouses, long flared gowns and brown and maroon shared chiffon sarees with ribbon embroidery are feminine and glamorous. The princess gowns in aqua and baby pink are with trails with a generous embellishment of sequin and Swarovski crystals. The drape sarees in mint green have short drapes and corseted blouses.
The Divine Collection also has a line of bridal collection with rich textures of printed and embroidered velvets. Floor length anarkalis with zardozi work and thread embroidery with narrow stoles, short jackets with trousers and long A-line kurtas with pencil trousers.
Speaking about the collaboration, Jhelum Dalvi says “At Jhelum, we firmly believe in only offering the best to our discerning patrons. Therefore we house India's A-list designer names. Our association with Suneet is very special since this his is solo preview in Mumbai after a long gap. His presentence is a value addition to Jhelum, keeping each visit to Jhelum as exciting and interesting as the last one.”
Speaking about his latest collection, the man himself says, "Music nourishes our soul and transports us to a happy place- with wonderful memories- The melodies and the mood from the 70's have always been my happy place. The styling, silhouettes and colors of the collection are inspired from the times and I have worked on the collection giving it a contemporary twist"
